3 --- PREP WORK DAYS to volunteer on days in March and-or April at Xavier.

Xavier will host a huge Conference Track & Field Relays on Tuesday April 16, and many adult workers and many student workers are needed.  No experience needed for some roles, adults with track & field knowledge are needed for some duties for this day-long event.  Student volunteers need not be track & field athletes.  Service hours available.  Adults are also needed in the ticket booth and the concession stand.  PREP WORK DAY help also needed.

A meeting for some workers, but not all volunteers, starts at 3:30 p.m. in Shed A near the track.  The meet starts with the National Anthem at 3:50 p.m., field events begin at 4:00 p.m., and running events start at 4:00 p.m.  The meet should end by about 9:00 p.m.  Some volunteer slots need to arrive earlier, such as ticket takers or concession stand workers.  Remember, ONLY *adults* may volunteer for the concession stand at Xavier;  no students and no children allowed in the concession stand.  Individuals are needed at the finish line, for field events, for running events, as part of the hurdle crew, or many other slots.

Some volunteers will need to arrive at Xavier by about 2 or 2:15 a.m. on the day of the meet.  While many volunteers are needed all day long, not all volunteer slots will work the full day, depending on your assignment -- which will be determined before your arrival.

There will be 16 teams, 8 boys and 8 girls, from the conference schools competing in the huge meet which will attract about 1,000 people -- nearly 600 athletes and several hundred spectators plus many coaches.

All proceeds from this event go to the Xavier Booster Club, and the meet runs through the lunch hour...  so it will be a busy time for food workers and a great opportunity to make some very good money for the Xavier Booster Club.  The coed event will be held at Rocky Bleier Field on the Knights of Columbus Sports Complex behind XHS.  Over the years, Xavier has hosted numerous WISAA Class B State Meets, a WIAA Regional, and countless Conference Meets in track & field.   To volunteer,  see the options above.

WEATHER -- PLAN AHEAD for all kinds of weather.  Meet rain date is TBA.
