COACH O THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES--LEGACY ONE OF THE VETERANS PC COLUMN--DVP
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!
Dennis Oudenhoven, long-time teacher and coach
Thanks, Dennis, for your tremendous support of Xavier High athletics, Xavier students, and the faculty & staff of Xavier High School.
Your intellect, wit, and vision will be missed, but always treasured, by all whose lives you affected in your 40-years at the X as well as the other schools during your chosen profession of Catholic education in the Fox Valley area. Literally, thousands have been the recipient of many positive influences from Mr. O... in literature, in athletics or in life.
Those of us whose lives you touched were impacted in so many, many wonderful ways, too many to list. We know that you now walk among the many Angels and Saints above, and will always watch over us and guide us.
Until we meet again... someday... THANKS for the amazing memories, fabulous times, and astonishing accomplishments in the classroom, on the court, or on the track. Most of all, your brilliant mind and perspective encouraged all of us to strive for bigger and better things, and, for that, we all have blessed to have been a small part of your life.
LEGACY OF MR. O
In the classroom, Mr. O was a master of subtle humor and wittiness. He did not just teach, but encouraged his students to explore their creativity and let their uniqueness shine through in their papers, skits and other fun assignments.
Beyond the classroom, however, is where Mr. O's greatest legacy might lie. He truly led by example when it came to kindness. His dedication to the Lord was inspiring, as was the love he clearly felt for his family. The silent leadership that Mr. O displayed has touched the lives of so many, and will continue to live on through those who knew him.
