Xavier will host a huge coed track & field meet on Thursday May 9, and many adult workers and many student workers are needed.  No experience needed for some roles, and, adults with track & field knowledge are needed for some duties for this huge event.  Student volunteers need not be track & field athletes.  Service hours available.  Adults are also needed to help in the concession stand.

A meeting for some workers, but not all volunteers, starts at 3:45 p.m. in Shed A, near the track; look for the large A on the yellow shed.  The meet starts with the National Anthem at about 4:05 p.m., then field events and running events will begin at 4:15 p.m.  The meet should end about 7:30 or 8:00 p.m.

Most volunteers should arrive at Xavier by about 3:30 p.m. on the day of the meet, some need to arrive earlier... such as field event judges or concession stand workers.  Remember, ONLY *adults* may volunteer for the concession stand at Xavier;  no students and no children allowed in the concession stand.  Individuals are needed at the finish line, for field events, for running events, as part of the hurdle crew, to assist the PA announcer, or, many other slots.  Volunteers will work the day of the meet until either the meet ends or your volunteer slot ends -- depending on your assignment, which will be determined before your arrival.

There will be 10 teams, boys and girls, from 5 schools competing in the huge meet... which will draw several hundred people -- athletes, spectators, coaches and workers.

All proceeds from this event go to the Xavier Booster Club, and the meet runs through the dinner hour...  so it will be a busy time for food workers and a great opportunity to make some very good money for the Xavier Booster Club.  The coed event will be held at Rocky Bleier Field on the Knights of Columbus Sports Complex behind XHS.  Over the years, in addition to this meet, Xavier has hosted numerous WISAA Class B State Meets, a WIAA Regional, and countless Conference Meets in track & field.   To volunteer,  see the options above.

WEATHER -- PLAN AHEAD for all kinds of weather.  It may get chilly when the sun goes down.
